In a showing of its ability to compete nationally in TV programming and network branding, Mindclay Creative and its parent company, Spectrum Productions, are proud to announce several prestigious national award nominations received over the past week. The nominations include two national Daytime Emmys®, three North American Promax/BDA awards, and a national ADDY nomination. The nominations represent the very best in television programming, promotions and advertising.
"There are very few creative companies out there that can simultaneously achieve top nominations in marketing, advertising and television programming. We believe that's what makes Spectrum/Mindclay so unique. Our team is comprised of great storytellers, that also execute effective advertising, branding and marketing, and all under one roof," stated Guy Nickerson, President of Spectrum Productions and Mindclay Creative.
The Daytime Emmy® nominations include one for Outstanding Children's Series and one for Main Title Design/Title Sequence. Adventure Camp, the nominated series, was produced for Discovery Kids Network and the BBC. Jack Hanna's Into the Wild, nominated for Main Title Design/Title Sequence, is a nationally syndicated series produced by Spectrum Productions and Into the Wild Productions, LLC. This is the 14th Daytime Emmy® nomination for Spectrum Productions' series and specials over the past six years, including two consecutive Emmy® wins (2007 and 2008). The winners will be announced this summer at the Daytime Emmy® Creative Arts Awards Presentation.
Mindclay Creative, the creative services division of Spectrum, was also nominated for three North American Promax/BDA awards and a National ADDY. The Promax/BDA awards recognize the best in branding, promotions and marketing. The nominations came in the categories of "best network branding campaign" and "best network image spot" for longtime client, SportsTime Ohio. Other category nominees include Discovery Channel, Cartoon Network and USA Network. The winners will be announced June 18th in New York.
The national ADDY nomination is in the category of "best cinematography," also for client SportsTime Ohio's network image campaign. ADDY winners will be announced at the American Advertising Association's national conference in June.
All nominated pieces are conveniently viewable from Mindclay's Facebook page.
Spectrum productions/mindclay was tapped to develop the new show logo for nationally syndicated Live With Regis and Kelly. The logo, part of an entire new on-air branding package created by Giant Octopus, premiered on January 5, 2009.
Spectrum/mindclay worked closely with Clearwater-based design firm, Giant Octopus, for several weeks while developing a logo that would project a fresh and fun look for the acclaimed daytime television brand.
35th Daytime Entertainment Emmy® Nominations | Tampa, Florida - May 2, 2008
On April 30th, The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences announced the nominees for the 35th Annual Daytime Entertainment Emmy® Awards on ABC’s The View, and for the fifth straight year a Spectrum Productions program was nominated.

Jack Hanna’s Into the Wild was nominated twice; once for Outstanding Children’s Series and once for Outstanding Performer in a Children’s Series for Jack Hanna as himself. Series nominees include: Jack Hanna (Executive Producer), Guy Nickerson (Executive Producer), Jim Rapsas (Executive Producer), Elaine Pugliese (Supervising Producer) and Glenn Nickerson (Director).
The docu-drama series, now heading into its second season of syndication, follows Jack and his family on his travels across the world in search of the ultimate animal destinations.
The show also introduces the viewers to the people and culture that make each location unique. While on location, Jack looks for opportunities to give back to conservation projects and people in need. In the first year of production, Jack, his family, and friends at Spectrum traveled from New York to Africa (twice), to Fiji and Australia and back to the Columbus Zoo.
In addition to Jack Hanna’s Into the Wild weekly series, Jack can be seen regularly on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, The Late Show with David Letterman, Larry King Live, Good Morning America, and a host of other series and specials.
This is the 12th time in 5 years that a Spectrum production and/or host has been nominated for an Emmy® Award.
Last year, the Spectrum Productions, Discovery Kids Network and Busch Entertainment special, Saving a Species: The Great Penguin Rescue, hosted by Elijah Wood, won a Daytime Emmy® for Outstanding Children and Family Special.
Jack Hanna’s Into the Wild is syndicated nationally by Trifecta Entertainment.
Spectrum is wrapping up production on season two of its Emmy-winning® series Jack Hanna’s Into the Wild. Production will begin on season three this Spring, with trips to Malaysia and Montana in the works. The series has cleared domestic syndication in 90% of the markets, and recently secured representation by the William Morris Agency, which will be handling deals for sponsorships, licensing, and domestic cable distribution. Cable Ready currently represents the series for international distribution.
